Siltex partners with The Gaurs

The Italian company's services include a full range of custom-engineered coating, impregnating, laminating and printing machines designed in order to meet the most stringent industrial requirements

Siltex S.R.L. is an Italian company, established in 2006, which specialises in the design and manufacturing of machinery for coating and lines for coating, impregnating, laminating and printing of technical textiles. The company has recently entered into an agreement with The Gaurs to represent them in the Indian and Sri Lankan markets.

"In order to engage in all these services, all our machines are manufactured and assembled at the Siltex plant in Italy with the use of European components. At any phase of project development, starting from planning and consultation up to commissioning, our customers have for their assistance a qualified team of specialists at their disposal," he added. While the company's main office is located in Torri di Quartesolo, near Vicenza (60 km from Venice), its technical department and plant is located in Cisterna di Latina near Rome.

Products, solutions and markets

Speaking about the products and solutions offered by Siltex, Pilan said, "Siltex is specialised in offering each type of machine for the production of technical textiles. Unwinders, coating heads, laminators, dipping units, ovens, stenter frames, calendars, inspection machines, winders and the whole structure are designed, built and assembled to guarantee maximum level of satisfaction to the customer."

"Siltex also specialises in undertaking turn key projects and has process specialists as well to ensure that the customer can produce whatever product he needs from Siltex machines", he added.

"Our services include a full range of custom-engineered coating, impregnating, laminating and printing machines designed in order to meet the most stringent industrial requirements," said Umberto Pilan, Managing Director (Sales), Siltex.

When queried on the key markets for the company, Umberto Pilan remarked: "Siltex's key market is the world. Thanks to its expertise, Siltex has sold, over the years, in several countries. US, Germany, the UK, South Africa, China, Indonesia, Taiwan and Italy are just some of the geographies in which Siltex has affirmed its presence." Elaborating on the technology offered by Siltex and how it is superior to other similar technologies available in the market, he said, "We utilise the most advanced technology offered by the market in every phase of its relationship with the customer. Firstly, the mechanical design of machines is realised thanks to cutting-edge 3D systems."

"Secondly, the automation department is equipped with state-of-the-art software which guarantees perfect control all over the production to ensure superior quality product. Finally, the most important technology offered by Siltex is its know-how embedded inside skilled people who everyday work to deliver to the customer the best solutions. A key differentiator for Siltex, which is often overlooked, is that we have our own software department which designs the software for our machines. So, we can really ensure our machines work in a more customised way compared to our competitors," he elaborated.

Foray into Indian market

The company has only recently entered the Indian market through its partnership with The Gaurs. Spelling out the key reasons that took the company so long to enter this key market, Umberto Pilan noted: "The Indian market has not represented an attractive market for Siltex till now due to the lack of interest to have high-tech machines and lines to produce high-quality products. Considering the huge amount of requests received from India in recent times and the growth in future trends, it is believed that the time has come for Siltex to play an important role in guiding Indian companies to emerge and set new standards of quality and export their products."

"Siltex has been pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and the determination of The Gaurs to develop the Indian technical textile market by introducing quality machines offered by Siltex. We have every confidence that our relationship will be a win-win for the Indian market. We have entered into an agreement with The Gaurs for India and Sri Lanka markets," he added.

Listing down the key factors that would drive the demand for Siltex machines in the Indian and other key global markets, Pilan said, "Our customers are marked for their willingness to have machines characterised by fair and competitive price, excellent quality, long lasting lifetime, safety and ergonomics for operators, energy-saving design and professional and responsive after-sale service."

After-sales service

Going into details regarding the strategy that it has in place to take care of the after-sales service and spares for customers in India, Pilan said, "Our erection, commissioning and after-sales services are part of Siltex's unique strengths due to its competent and professional team of technicians. Our collaboration with The Gaurs will further enhance this advantage due to their organisation in the field. It is clear that the Internet of Things (IOT) represents a concept that can no longer be ignored. This is the reason why Siltex cannot be ignored because we offer remote diagnostics which guarantee quick investigation to solve the problem in no time."

Future plans

Finally, when asked about the future plans of the company, Pilan revealed, "In the upcoming years Siltex intends to do what it has done so far i.e. to bring value to the customer through technical expertise and a mindset oriented to continuous improvement. In particular, Siltex aims to be a reference point in the world of Prepreg machines as it is in the sectors of coating and laminating thanks to its numerous and prestigious references across the world." Siltex is scheduled to participate in Techtextil India 2023.
